Minding Your Universal Manners

Categories: Focus, Inspiration

As kids we were taught to always say Please and Thank You to others, and this is a very good thing to do.  It promotes kindness and respect among people.  I think many of us consider ourselves as polite and kind individuals so I was very surprised to learn this important lesson about my own manners from the universe.

I’ve been working with a wonderful and intuitive coach and mentor on limiting beliefs and mindset struggles surrounding abundance that have resurfaced for me.  It surprised me to have this “stuff” come up because I do a lot of inner work with myself and have dealt with these issues before.  My mentor smiled and said to me that it’s common for the plumber to have leaky pipes or the mechanic to have squeaky brakes.  In other words, it’s easier to help others with their “stuff” than to help yourself.  This is why I love working with a coach – they pull out things that I can’t pull out of my own head.

During our sessions my coach sometimes channels messages from the universe.  As I was sharing my frustrations about attracting these struggles again and again, she looked with that look she gets when she channels and said “It’s because you haven’t been grateful for the lessons the universe is wanting to teach you.”

Esther and Jerry Hicks write about the power of gratitude and how important it is.  I keep a gratitude journal and we’ve started a family gratitude book that we write in every day.  I realized that I practice gratitude for the good things in my life but not for all the other things: the more difficult events and people that lead me to learn valuable things.

My coach helped me release the internal struggles and I also immediately began expressing gratitude for everything – the good and the not so good.  And almost immediately everything changed in this area of my life.  I am attracting abundance in so many different ways now.  It’s like the universe was waiting for me to just be polite towards the abundance so that I would receive it easily.

If you have an area in your life where you’re struggling continually even though you’ve worked on it before, chances are your mindset (your internal thoughts, feelings, and values) is misaligned.  Once you release the struggle and express gratitude for it, you will be amazed at the changes you will experience in your life.  Your mindset will be aligned with your conscious goals and you will easily achieve those goals.
A coach can be an invaluable asset while you’re making changes in your life because they listen without judgment and are there only for you.  Of course you can speak about things with friends and family but it’s not the same as having an impartial partner who holds a safe space for you to explore all your oprtions.  To get to the bottom of your internal struggles and refocus your energy where you want it within one day, book your free Strategy Session to discover if working with us is right for you.

Meeting those people

Categories: Focus, Intention

I’ve been reading this awesome book lately called the Intention Experiment by Lynn McTaggert.  She writes about the science behind intention.  It’s been quite a learning experience to read about all the different types of experiments and research being done in this area.

I’ve been a student and practitioner of Intention for many years.  And no matter how much I think I know, there is more to learn, to practice, and to receive.  It’s definitely been a journey.

One of the main intentions I had put out for this past year was connections.  I wanted to meet the right people who would catch my vision and help me move it forward.  And when I look back at where I am today compared to when I first put that intention out there, it humbles me!

I’ve had so many synchronistic meetings and encounters with just the right people this year!  One person would lead me to another and I would get excatly what I needed even before I knew I wanted it sometimes.

I often get asked what I do to bring in clients and my answer is I network a lot.  The next logical question is then “does that work?” My answer is absolutely!  Because I always meet the right people at the right time.  And they are always those people that I need in my life.  My purpose in wanting to connect with others is not to meet everyone in a room or at an event.  Of course, the more people know about my work the better, but that’s not the whole idea.  I want to connect with those people who I am meant to connect with and build a relationship with to help both our visions.

I’ve been very fortunate so far that the Universe is bringing those people to me.  I get so excited when we begin brainstorming and envisioning what we can accmplish together.  Intention really works whether scientifically or on faith.  It works and I’m glad I found it all those years ago.

Lessons from a 6 year old author

Categories: Being a mom, Decisions, Inspiration, Intention, Mindset, Parenting

Last week’s article was filled with the wisdom of an extraordinary 90 year old. This week’s article was inspired by my 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son. Children just believe they can do something and they don’t let anything stop them…until they learn to have limitations. It’s these limitation that stop many of us adults from achieving

My son is a voracious reader and his sister is learning to read and loves books just as much. He is currently reading the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The cover has the NY Times Bestseller seal on it and he asked me what that was. I explained it to him and, without missing a beat, said, “Mommy, we’re going to write books that will be on the best seller list.” He grabbed some paper and started to write down 18 subjects he wants to write books on and over 30 names of possible characters.

Upon hearing this my daughter piped up “I’m first!” and grabbed some paper out of the printer and a pencil. “My book is going to be about pumpkins. How do you spell pumpkin, mommy?” She asked me to spell every word and wrote a 5 page story about a pumpkin that wanted to grow. She then illustrated it, stapled it together, and we have our very first copy of Kaitlyn’s bestseller.

Kaitlyn's bestseller

Haven’t you always wanted to feel such amazing enthusiasm for a dream or a goal? When you were a kid, what did you believe that you could do? I bet you could see yourself soaring like Superman or flying the Enterprise like Captain Kirk, couldn’t you? Then you began to grow up and you became a “realist.” Because we can’t fly like Superman or Captain Kirk; it’s impossible, right?

I agree, there are limitations to our physical world and human flight is currently limited to airplanes. But you probably have other goals that are completely possible and you could achieve them if you wanted to. And before the “realist” in you pipes up “yeah, but…I have no money, no time, no (insert excuse here)…” pretend for a moment that you do have all those things. If you knew all those things were taken care of, what would you do? Do you dare to dream about it?

If you don’t, why not? Is it because you’re afraid that you might actually see this dream as a probable success and you might feel compelled to go after it? Think about that and honestly answer yourself.

My kids believe that their stories will end up on the NY Times bestseller list. They have envisioned their books already written and printed with their names on the cover. Now the easy part is just to write the stories. And the rest shows up. The How always shows up when we decide to do something. The very next day I met a woman who gave me information about publishing a book after I shared this story with her.

The NY Times hasn’t called yet but the point is this, what if Kaitlyn had just done what most adults do and said “No, it’s too hard, I don’t even know how to spell pumpkin, who would want to talk to a 6 year old at the NY Times? No, I just won’t even bother because it probably won’t work anyway.” Isn’t that what so many people do? They give up because of fears that are mostly all in their head and ungrounded in reality?

Kaitlyn is learning to write this year in kindergarten and doesn’t know how to spell many words yet. That didn’t stop her from writing her first book. She found the resources she needed to get her story written.

The truth is, reality is created by the words we say and what we believe. And it’s easy to change with the right tools. If you have dreams, goals, or just need a change, then we have the tools to help you get started and to support you on your journey. What’s so magical about spousal support?

Categories: Coaching, Family Empowerment, Inspiration, Mindset, Relationship questions

What is it about having the support of your spouse that’s so key?  This has been an ongoing conversation in our circle lately and I had an “aha” about this yesterday.

Yesterday wasn’t a good day for me.  I was climbing uphill all day and I really felt like all the work and effort wasn’t worth it anymore.  It was a day when I kept looking at the carrot on a stick that is my big vision and how far I still have to go to get there.  The distance between where I am and where I am going seemed so daunting!   And I’ve had days like that in the past and what I used to do was just get through it.  Do mindset work and just move on.  Most of the time it took a while to move on, too.

Yesterday was different.  Bryan got home from work and immediately tuned into the fact that I was “off orbit” in my mindset.  He really listened to me and my concerns and then expertly helped me find my grove again.  He helped me to see how much I’ve accomplished in the short time that I’ve been doing this business full time.  He got me to look at the successes I already have and to focus on the next step, not on the final destination.

His amazing coaching and some Belief Release Therapy quickly got me back to feeling motivated, clear, and ready to take on the world again!  I realized that with him being on board and supporting this vision we have and being invested in our work together means that I don’t have to do it alone!

Duh! You might say.  But it’s huge!  I no longer have to be the only one who’s strong and feel like I’m the only one who has the flashlight.  Bryan has always supported my business and did what needed to be done, but he didn’t fully understand the vision and so I still felt like I was in it alone.  His understanding and acceptance and support now have combined into this magical and soft place for me to rest when I feel like I can’t climb anymore.

To me, that’s what spousal support is all about.  Not only taking care of the house or the kids but really, really understanding and having a common “big why.”  There’s a reason the universe brings certain people together and they love each other more than anyone else in the world.  It’s because those two people are meant to do great things together.  This “big why” can be raising responsible adults, having a business together, or simply being role models and inspiration for others who don’t believe in love or in themselves.  Whatever that “big why” is, once you find it, support becomes easy, the journey becomes more fulfilling, and life has more meaning.
